"I sure had fun getting old!" Mom reflected after a diagnosis that would take her life within two months. My blog and travel writing stopped and I became Mom's caregiver. She was my inspiration for all things beautiful: music, the environment, hiking the world's best mountains and our local backyards, kayaking, international travel, swimming, dancing, literature, continuing college education, wildlife, pets, activism for the greater social and environmental good, dressing in color-coordinated style, and making integrity and morality her life long guides.
I received bags full of condolence
letters from the many friends, who admired and were inspired by Mom, who lived large and always sought the glass half-full with a winning smile.
