Lured by its pristine Alaska air and a class one air shed, I boarded the Alaska Railroad in Anchorage headed to Denali National Park, home to vast wilderness, wildlife, and the largest mountain in North America, Mt. McKinley, or Denali as the Koyukon Athabaskan natives named the 20,320 foot masterpiece.
I arrived yesterday to the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, a beautiful property located steps from the Nenana river and a path leading into the Denali National Park where I'm headed today.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information about the music of Denali: tweeting birds, whistling leaves, and the soft squish of stepping on tundra off the path of civilization as I go deeper into the wild land of the midnight sun. This trip, I'll save my best stories for last, as I embrace my now opportunities. So until later, breathe easy and make life an adventure!
