Mayor Villaraigosa, LADWP General Manager Ron Nichols, and environmentalists today announced an LADWP pilot program that will provide incentives in form of rebates--up to $2000--to first 1,000 LADWP customers for EV home chargers and installation costs for their electric vehicles.

LADWP plans to upgrade existing 86 City of Los Angeles owned public chargers and invest in new chargers, and will encourage owners of older style chargers to upgrade to new standards.
