So that means earthquake and fire preparedness in Southern California. I learned about two solar-powered American Cross products that should be in our emergency "kit". Clipray is a solar-powered emergency flashlight that clips onto our belt-loop or back-back.
I'm keeping it in my car, along with tennis shoes and water in case an emergency happens on the road. Not needing batteries is a huge plus. And even better... it also can charge a cell phone via its hand-crank and a USB jack. Only $15, I recommend the Clipray made by Eton.
American Red Cross also sells a solar-powered radio--the Eton FR360 Solarlink. I haven't tried it but think that's a great idea, too.
