Light is beautiful.
I contemplate light versus heavy as one who owns a Yamaha U3 piano, marble furniture and a solid oak Ethan Allen Country French bedroom set.
I am a weight-lifter.
No problem.
I'll just move that filing cabinet an inch!
What was that tweak? In my body.
Today, I am no longer a weight-lifter but a philosopher who types standing because it hurts to sit and then stand. OUCH!!
When the moving men moved my piano up one flight of stairs, I had to look away from the pain in their faces. They are professional. But human, too.
Why I bought the heaviest BIG desk on the floor a few years back? My only defense. I wasn't thinking.
Light.
When I move next, I may leave every heavy piece of furniture and reconstruct my life with pillows, recycled plastics, and a futon bed.
I will never look at pianos, marble anything, solid wood bedframes and desks as anything but what they are: heavy.
Light is beautiful.
