Chirping birds broke the silence this morning when I woke refreshed at The Outlook Inn on Orcas Island.
Talk about clean air, it's everywhere.
If you're looking for a Pacific Northwest romantic getaway, consider this.
My Bay View Suite overlooked the Eastsound Bay with sparkling water, boats, and islands in the distance... all mere yards from my window and balcony set up with two chairs.
Alas, it was only me hence my recommendation for a romantic getaway to share those chairs.
And big bathtub jacuzzi, fireplace, mini-fridge and microwave, comfy bed with a view of Eastsound Bay!
The Outlook Inn is located in the center of Eastsound, a small upscale village filled with color, artisans, and flowers.
This is the sort of place you'll find home-grown organic vegetables, and good food everywhere. The thing is everywhere is quite manageable as Orcas Island is not overgrown.
Things to do here include exploring Moran State Park, paddling on lakes, kayaking and canoeing, and my favorite, watching the tides come in go out, and waiting for stars to appear in the night sky.
One by one stars brightly shine without interference of city lights until a blanket of twinkling diamonds covers the sky to the sound of lapping water.
The skies in the Pacific Northwest are magnificent.
I'm not sure what it is about the sky that makes it feel so expansive, and expressive like an impressionist painting every night, but the sky is magical.
In this blue sky dusk photo the twinkling city lights belong to Vancouver, B.C.
I'm headed back to Victoria, B.C. now, and will get caught up on my writing to share more of the magical San Juan Islands, where the air goes down easy and its beauty will soothe your soul.
