Thinking about clean air and watching Secretary of State Hillary Clinton step off the plane in China ready to ask China's bank to buy our growing debt incurred from irresponsible U.S. personal spending and government leadership, I felt less guilty for recent products I bought "Made in China".
A raincoat. Two dresses. Two shirts.
Anyone and everyone who encourages a sustainable lifestyle talks about buying local in order to support community, lessen carbon footprints (global warming) and decrease fossil fuel use; a good percentage coming from Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Obama is in Canada reassuring our largest trading partner that the "Buy American" stimulus package won't negatively impact our economic relationship.
Regarding clean air:
All this makes me think that in addition to buying local when possible, we need to recognize we're in a world economy, (the internet makes us feel like we're just next door) and maybe the emerging slogan Buy Local should have the addendum, But When You Don't Insist On Clean Fuels.
