Is it normal to know that Iraq is on verge of civil war, its most sacred shrine desecrated, in the bloodiest week since the war began, hundreds of deaths, casualties on all sides, Bush's ratings are at an all time low, and top of the news in Los Angeles begins...
"It's drizzling!" The perfectly coiffed TV anchor doesn't blink as she delivers the headlines. "So and so newscaster is standing nearby at the pier."
A guy, wearing a yellow slicker--hood draped over his head, hands crossed over his chest to protect from wind, sleet, and rain--adjusts his microphone. A palm tree stands calmly in the background. The ocean is peaceful. A picture perfect postcard.
"It is drizzling there?" Perfectly coiffed anchor says.
Yellow slicker guy, "Yes, it's drizzling in Los Angeles! Thanks to sky doppler radar we will bring you updates throughout the day. Stay tuned for more!"
Drizzle is reported with the urgency of a ticking time bomb because it might morph into a storm.
When the storm hits, our news team will be the
