If you haven't seen my Chasing Clean Air Climate Change video, please click here. Just back from the icebox that was Century City AMC movie theatre where my nose was glacier cold, my breath like the north wind, and the only warmth in the theatre was...
hope oozing from Age of Stupid, an important movie for our time though it could've focused on solutions more.
So others need not suffer the age of air conditioned stupid movie theatres, consider buying this movie online or renting if available.
The biggest take away for me was a stronger motivation to look at my carbon footprint.
I felt the film could have elaborated on what's going right in the world There's plenty. For example: Denmark and its Samso Island mostly run by windmills. Israel is working toward the goal of an all-electric car nation run on solar energy.
I had a new vision.
Wherever I end up, I see my canoe parked at local creek, which is in my backyard. I'm hesitating, what do I call where I keep my canoe? A slip? Well I take my canoe or bike to town to get my groceries and say hi to neighbors. I didn't get past that part of fantasy, for despite unconscious management at AMC movie theatre keeping me like a popsicle (and I did ask them to lower the a/c), the movie Age of Stupid showing throughout the world and illustrating oil's devastating impact, was engrossing and informative.
I recommend Age of Stupid.
This post has been created and published from my iPhone, which has a much lower carbon footprint than my MacBook Pro.
Takeaway: Don't go to movie theatres that keep the theatre like an icebox. Ditto restaurants. Stores. Shopping Malls. There's no excuse, we still get this energy from mostly dirty coal and oil, which is unhealthy for the planet and our bodies.
