Governor Schwarzenegger is proposing to cut the budget of scientists who aim to protect our health at the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA).
OEHHA is housed at California's EPA and they're credited with calling a spade a spade and diesel exhaust a toxic air contaminant, which, in turn, paved the way for emission control measures, clearing some of California's air.
And that's just the tip of the toxic iceberg. OEHHA has tried to protect our health from many known carcinogens.
I guess if California sinks into the ocean with the rest of our needed programs, OEHHA scientists can either join bloggers like me and share what they know with the world, or get funding tips from South Coast AQMD, our clean air agency that I believe is largely funded by fines from environmental polluters.
Due to our broken, I mean, broke state, apparently the way of California will be the way to home-schooling, home-medicine, and let's see, where's my latest book on how to start a vegetable garden?
cut! Cut! CUT!
