There's a movement of well-meaning folks who enjoy crystals, burning incense and sage.
Once I took a yoga class and the teacher burned incense as if none of us had allergies or asthma. I nipped it in the bud with one request but others aren't as fortunate.
Yesterday at the gym, I met a woman who mentioned her kids have asthma and on Fridays they have to leave home or potentially suffer an asthma attack because their "evolved" neighbor insists on getting rid of bad energy on Fridays by burning sage.
Despite numerous attempts to stop the sage burner, she insists on sharing her bad energy bundled in sage smoke, which, in turn, negatively impacts these poor asthmatic kids, the innocents next door.
I mentioned Reporting from Marin (a reader here), who wrote in with information on the air purifier that saved her from feeling ill as a result of wood-burning neighbors. Check out her comment, by clicking here.
I wish more neighbors could think beyond themselves. Short of moving away, where there may be another "bad" neighbor, if you suffer from wood-smoke, sage-burning, or incense, you might try an air purifier.
I have one in the livingroom and one in the bedroom.
