Take Action: Coal

Every now and again a commenter's plea is worth a bigger mention. Let's clean the skies by dealing with U.S. coal the James Hansen approved way.

Every American reading your blog should call and write a letter and put it in the mail to his or her Representative in the House ...

 

Implore them to co-sponsor and support H.R. 5575 which Henry Waxman initiated to stop coal electrical plants without carbon capture and sequestration.  This legislation is completely in alignment with Dr. James E. Hansen, Director or the Goddard Institute of Space Science -- he's the one the Bush Administration gagged and would not allow to talk about global warming to the press without a "handler".

 

Rep Henry Waxman and Rep Edward Markey of Massachusetts co-authored H.R. 5575.  We need this to pass the House.  Dr. Hansen believes they have "hit the nail on the head" with this and wants it to pass.
