jogging behind diesel truck became light headed nauseous

I feel bad for jogger, but jogging in traffic, especially behind a diesel truck or school bus, will get you more sick than staying home, eating popcorn in front of the boob tube.

Case in point, a friend at gym knows a woman who was in great shape, thin, ate well, never smoked but she walked daily on Olympic Boulvard (heavy traffic) after work. She recently died of lung cancer.

You hear these stories and wonder who's paying off Governor Schwarzenneger and California Air Resources Board (CARB) to keep more electric cars off the road.

    Greed.

    The American way?

Daniel Sperling was the expert at CARB, who helped nix a mandate that would've required automakers to produce 25,000 emission-free vehicles from 2012-2014.

I read about Sperling in Ken Bensinger's LA Times article, where the reporter says that Sperling raised millions of dollars from automakers and oil companies, such as Exxon Mobil Corp. for his job at the Institute of Transportation at UC Davis.

Maybe Sperling owed automakers a certain type of vote? Something to maintain his standing with them?

    It sounds unethical.

What's really disappointing. I hear great talk about Mary Nichols, head of CARB, and according to LA Times reporter Bensinger,

    Mary said,

"My heart is in the direction of just raising it to a higher level, but I... need to acknowledge that I'm not the expert on the technology."

    Well, that is wrong, Mary.

You are the Chairman of CARB. You of all people need to understand we need zero-emission cars to clean the air and reduce global warming. It's not about your heart. It's about taking action. Get the soot-producing cars off the road by mandating laws to produce electric cars and give incentives to buyers, or move over.
