I read Los Angeles County air exceeds EPA air pollution standards by 70%.
EPA stand
ards are already too lax to protect human health.

So L.A. is more than 70% over air pollution standards, which we basically could intuit breathing the air. Just looking at it.
$16 billion state deficit.
Los Angeles plans to fire 10,000 teachers. Already we have overcrowded classrooms and violence in the streets.
I can't help but wonder why we can't do a fundraiser for cities to keep needed jobs? It sure would be great if Sacramento hired the best event producers and fundraisers, and asked major California companies with creative minds like Google and Hewlett Packard to help save California. Get the best for-profit minds to work on a special panel for Sacramento and society.
Scwarzenneger could also insist on a carbon tax now, and let polluters pay. Those oil companies with refineries, polluting Californian's air and health, should help make up our deficit, keep kids in school, teachers teaching, parks open, health clinics open...
There must be creative solutions. There are so many rich people and companies in this state. Creative minds too.
I've written a lot about Los Angeles smog, which you can check out in the categories on right here. Try categories Environmental Pollution and Your Health, Los Angeles, and Clean and Dirty Air Resources.
